It works by drawing moisture through the leather while keeping the bag comfortably inflated, ensuring optimal performance. Regular checks for airtightness are recommended—every few weeks in low humidity conditions is ideal. A properly seasoned bag should stay full or mostly inflated for about a minute when corked.
 
Use sparingly—a little goes a long way. Overusing the dressing can lead to issues and may shorten the life of your pipe bag. Add only as much as needed, and apply more later if necessary.
