The McCallum Kintyre Practice Chanter is the result of a collaboration between McCallum and renowned soloist Willie McCallum, created to provide a more refined and comfortable practice experience. Featuring a Blackwood bottom for enhanced resonance and tonal clarity, the chanter is paired with a durable Poly top that houses a built-in watertrap. This allows moisture to be expelled during playing, helping extend practice sessions without compromising reed performance.
One of its standout features is the hole design. While the actual playing holes are recessed like most traditional chanters, the wider outer diameter mimics the feel of a full-size pipe chanter, making transitions to the pipes smoother. The Kintyre Long Practice Chanter is finished with a beaded alloy ferrule and hemped joint, and includes one practice reed—making it a premium, piper-friendly tool for both seasoned players and advancing learners.
